The Islands of Beaufort is a private, 180 lot gated community located in the city of Beaufort, SC., on land that was once part of 18th-century Retreat Plantation. Surrounded by the tidal marshes of Battery Creek in a natural setting of flowering magnolias, majestic live oaks, and classic palmettos the Islands of Beaufort offer a variety of amenities and activities to its residents.
Located adjacent to the community clubhouse and pool are two lighted, dual purpose tennis/Pickleball courts that allow residents to play tennis on two courts or Pickleball on four courts when outfitted with portable nets. Pickleball play began in the neighborhood about 2018 and there are presently about 10 active Pickleball players that strive to play on schedule three times a week. Skill levels range from beginner to about 3.5. Play is limited to residents, their extended families, and guests.
